Excitement!! ??

Well after reading all your blogs last week, I was being thankful for my somewhat boring life. Today we decided to join the rest of you in your excitement. It all started quite normally. The girls left for school, Clint left for work and Riley and I headed to town. We were enjoying our socialization activity when Clint's boss appeared in the doorway - never a good sign. Clint had been bucked off his mare and hurt his shoulder. We proceeded to the hospital to evaluate the damage. After x-rays they determined he did not have a dislocated shoulder - only a broken shoulder blade. They cleaned up the blood off his ear to discover a nasty tear that went nearly through the earlobe - 5 stitches to hold that together. They wrapped him up nicely and sent him home to sit out this branding season(with much sadness). It's his right shoulder so there will be NO roping, branding, flanking, or any other such nonsense. He may get away with a vaccine gun, we'll see.

The mare has now earned herself a trip to either the local bucking string or the Canadian slaughter house. She bucked him off last week too. He managed to land safely then. This week he was proud to have "rode her out". He managed to stay on until she went down with him. Luckily she didn't land on him, just thrust him into the ground and a sage brush that caught his ear. We're pretty lucky it didn't turn out much worse, and only spent about 2 hours in the emergency room.

He was "thrilled" at the opportunity to make an appearance on the blog!!

Yesterday must have been the day to go to the ER. I had to take Nathaniel in cause he fell and cut his mouth open just above his lip in the left corner. It wasn't very big, but it laid it open enough to make me think he was going to need stitches, so off we went. The ER doc said that the need for stitches was borderline, if Nathaniel was a little older, he probably would have gotten stitches. But at 3 & 1/2 and due to where the cut was, he probably would have just licked the spot until the stitches came out. So he'll have a scar, but that's about it.

I'm so glad Clint is ok. I can only imagine the sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach when you saw his boss coming to get you.
So how long is he going to be stuck in the house & driving you nuts? um, I mean, how long is the poor guy not going to be able to work? :)

Sorry to hear about Clint. Really bad timing. We getting so excited to come and see you. Avery is telling everyone that she is going to see Joslynn go under the water. She is pretty interested in seeing how the whole thing really works. Can't wait.
